Advanced topics in computer applications software for<br />

Prerequisite: CIS 172 (or current enrollment) or permission<br />
of instructor.<br />
Designed to provide basic. introouctory information on computer<br />
servicing, enabling the average PC user to diagnose, re r<br />

prevent simple problems. Simple and complicated servic~<br />
problems and preventative maintenance will be covered. Some of<br />
the topics included will be disk drives. maintenance of heads and<br />
drive mechanism, servicing printers, changing RAM chips, and<br />
use of documentation and test equipment.<br />

CIS 294 Field Experience In Computer Information<br />
Systems/1-6 Units<br />
Prerequisite: Sophomore standing in adeclared major and prior<br />
approval of Cooperative Education Program Coorditlator.<br />
Asupervised Cooperative Education work experience involving<br />
the combined efforts of educators and employers to accomplish<br />
career objectives in Computer Information Systems. Variable<br />
credit (1-6) is available by special arrangement. May be taken<br />
four times for amaximum of 16 credit hours, no more than 6units<br />
in agiven semester.<br />

AM/FM radio receiver. with special emphasis on alignment<br />
procedures, proper replacement parts selection and substItution<br />
using small tools. test equipment, and asoldering iron.<br />
