New Runway Project Strategy Milestones and Phases There are 6 major milestones to be achieved in the course of this project, as follows: · Gate 1 – Business Plan Endorsement by December 2008 · Gate 2 – Amended Master Plan Endorsement by December 2010 · Gate 3 – Approvals to Proceed by July 2012 · Gate 4 – Business Strategy Endorsement by August 2014 · Gate 5 – Funding Secured by August 2016 · Gate 6 – New Runway and Terminal Commissioned by February 2020 To achieve the milestones, a work breakdown structure has been developed, and the project has been broken down into 5 phases as illustrated in the figures below.
