6. Busy Hour Analysis
6.1 Review of Current Schedules at Sunshine Coast
TFI has reviewed current schedules for SCA. They are summarised in Table 6.1.
The busiest periods of the week are shaded. During these periods there are two aircraft on the
apron concurrently. If the Tiger service due to depart at 1250 hours on Fridays is delayed it is
possible that three aircraft will occupy the apron space.
Based on the aircraft type and seats the two aircraft arriving Monday to Saturday, at 1250 and
1255 hours, imply 357 seats arriving in the hour from 1250. Assuming a seat factor of 80%,
this amounts to 286 passenger arrivals at the terminal, and 286 passenger departures in the
period from 1320 to 1325 hours.
If there are delays on a Sunday the passengers served could increase to 401 passengers.

6.2 Busy Hour Projections
Reference to Section 8, Attachment 2, shows that the Gold Coast Airport (GCA) has services
to Sydney and Melbourne, as does the SCA, but also has domestic services to Adelaide,
Newcastle, Canberra and Cairns. Adelaide in particular looks to be a likely next domestic
route for SCA having had Jetstar services on the route until July 2008.
GCA also has international services from New Zealand and Asia (Japan and Malaysia). In the
scenarios outlined in the previous section, TFI has allowed for additional domestic route(s) for
SCA along with services to New Zealand and Asia in the higher scenarios.
