New Runway Project Strategy<br />

1. Introduction<br />

Sunshine Coast Airport prepared an Airport <strong>Master</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> in September 2007. The<br />

Sunshine Coast Airport <strong>Master</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> – September 2007 sets <strong>for</strong>th <strong>the</strong> long term strategic<br />

development objectives of <strong>the</strong> <strong>airport</strong> and outlines <strong>the</strong> work required to achieve <strong>the</strong>se<br />

objectives by 2020.<br />

The Airport <strong>Master</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> was endorsed by Maroochy Shire Council (MSC) and<br />

subsequently by <strong>the</strong> amalgamated Sunshine Coast Regional Council (SCRC) <strong>for</strong><br />

implementation. The Airport <strong>Master</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> will be reviewed at 5 yearly intervals and will be<br />

reviewed as an outcome of this strategy.<br />

This Project Strategy has been prepared to provide an overall framework <strong>for</strong><br />

implementation of <strong>the</strong> Airport <strong>Master</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> objectives, and is intended to be a central point<br />

of reference <strong>for</strong> those involved in <strong>the</strong> process of implementing <strong>the</strong> Airport <strong>Master</strong> <strong>Plan</strong>.<br />

1.1. Intended Audience<br />

The in<strong>for</strong>mation provided in this document has been prepared <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> members of <strong>the</strong><br />

Project Team, including Project Sponsor, Project Owner, Project Reference Group and<br />

Project Manager, as well as those members of Sunshine Coast Regional Council and staff<br />

who are required to understand <strong>the</strong> specifics of <strong>the</strong> project <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> purpose of making<br />

decisions directly or indirectly related to project outcomes.<br />
