Project Management
Project management will be conducted in accordance with SCRC requirements, which are
yet to be formally documented. Until such policies, procedures and guidance are
published, legacy instructions from Maroochy Shire Council are to be used.
For each phase of the overall project, the following documents will be produced for
approval by the project owner and maintained for the duration of the project by the Project
Manager:
· Project Management Plan according to Council requirements, including:

Project Specifications
Milestone Schedule
Work Breakdown Structure
· MS Project Worksheet
In addition to these primary project management deliverables, status reports and other
reports as required will be prepared by the project manager.
Risk Management
A risk assessment has been prepared which is preliminary and strategic in nature. A more
specific risk assessment should be conducted and recorded during the preparation of each
Project Management Plan.
The following findings and subsequent recommendations were made as a result of the risk
assessment:
· Risk treatments identified should be incorporated in planning documents such as
Project Management Plans, Marketing/Communication/Public Participation
Program as applicable.
· The Risk Management Framework in use with Maroochy Shire Council has
significant limitations regarding consideration of project risk, and should be
reviewed prior to wholesale acceptance or adoption by SCRC.
· Dollar amounts in financial consequence descriptors do not adequately reflect the
descriptors, and should be reviewed upwards. This will affect the assessed level of
risk for financial and project risks identified in the risk assessment.
Knowledge Management
As the Project will occur over such a long period and require the coordinated management
of interdependent, complex and costly tasks, it is important to document the ways in which
knowledge will be managed within the project. Guidance regarding document naming and
filing conventions, amendment and approval process, storage, security and control is
provided.
