Table 2.1 summarises the traffic performance for SCA from 2004/05. During this period:
• CAGR for passengers amounted to 8.9%.
• Capacity (measured by airline seats provided) grew at a slower rate than passengers,
resulting in an increase in passenger seat factors over the period – from 77.4% in
2004/05 to 84.2% by 2008/09.
• The CAGR for the number of aircraft movements (twice the number of return flights)
amounted to 2.3% over the period, well below the seat growth. This is due to an
increase in the average aircraft size with the average number of seats per movement
growing from 147 in 2004/05 to 174 by 2008/09.
