August 2, 1941Bessarabian Jews, who had been taken across the Dniester or scat teredabout <strong>in</strong> the Ukra<strong>in</strong>e, were collected aga<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong> Moghilau . From there theyare sent to Scaz<strong>in</strong>et .Approx. 4,000 are miss <strong>in</strong>g from the 25,000 peo ple taken across theDniester ; they were killed by hun ger, misery and the bullets of sol diers./.../August 6, 1941Jews from Bessarabia and Bucov<strong>in</strong>a are col lected <strong>in</strong> Atachi , on the bank ofthe Dniester . First Jews from Noua Sulita and Storoj<strong>in</strong>et ar rive there. Inthe river, at the right bank of which they are tak <strong>in</strong>g a rest, more and morecorpses of Jews are drifted by on the wa ter. The Un ion ofthe Jewish Com mu nity would like to aid them, but all their attempts fail.Their re quest handed <strong>in</strong> the M<strong>in</strong>istry of In te rior is re fused say <strong>in</strong>g that onlythe Presidium of the State Coun cil can de cide <strong>in</strong> this is sue. When their re -quest is handed <strong>in</strong> there, too, they are given no reply.
