Other soldiers search them, depriv<strong>in</strong>g these poor peopleof their last valuables.November 15, 1941The deportation of Jews from Chernovitz ended. By this timeapproximately 30,000 Jews had been deported from the town, and the15,600 who rema<strong>in</strong>ed had received permission to do so from the selectioncommittee, as had the 4,000 who were given temporary exemptionpermits by the Town Mayor.December 6, 1941Ion Antonescu is not satisfied with the activity of the President of theUnion of Jewish Religious Communities, s<strong>in</strong>ce due to this, he had tocancel the deportation of 20,000 Jews from Chernovitz . He decides toremove him from as head of the Jewish Religious Community, anddisbands all Jewish community organizations.
