8 PROFILES OF DIRECTORS, SUPERVISORS AND SENIOR MANAGEMENTWang Yong Non-executive director Mr. Wang has served as a director since June 2007. Mr. Wang is currently an employeeof the Bank’s substantial shareholder, Huijin, and concurrently a director of China Export& Credit Insurance Corporation. Mr. Wang was an inspector of the Balance of PaymentsDepartment of the SAFE from August 2004 to March 2007, and served consecutivelyas deputy director-general of the Foreign Investment Administration Department, deputydirector-general of the Capital Account Management Department and director-general ofthe Balance of Payments Department of the SAFE from January 1997 to August 2004. Mr.Wang is a senior economist. He graduated from Jilin University with a bachelor’s degree inworld economics in 1984 and a master’s degree in world economics in 1987.Zhu Zhenmin Non-executive director Mr. Zhu has served as a director since August 2010. He was an inspector of the Tax Bureauof the MOF from October 2007 to October 2009, a director of the Bank from September2004 to June 2007, director-general of the Tax Bureau of the MOF from December 2003to September 2004, director-general of the Tax Bureau of the MOF and concurrentlydirector of the General Office of Customs Tariff Commission under the State Councilfrom September 2002 to December 2003, and deputy director-general of the Tax Bureauof the MOF from August 1997 to September 2002. Mr. Zhu graduated with a degree infinance from the Central Institute of Finance Administration in 1987. Mr. Zhu is currently anemployee of the Bank’s substantial shareholder, Huijin.Li Xiaoling Non-executive director Ms. Li has served as a director since June 2007. Ms. Li was a deputy inspector of BudgetDepartment of the MOF from January 2006 to June 2007, and an assistant inspector ofBudget Department of the MOF from May 2001 to January 2006. Ms. Li is an economistand graduated from Beijing Normal University in 2003 with a master’s degree in politicaleconomics. Ms. Li is currently an employee of the Bank’s substantial shareholder, Huijin.Chen Yuanling Non-executive director Ms. Chen has served as a director since August 2010. She was a partner of BeijingKang Da Law Firm from November 2007 to August 2010. Previously, she was a partnerand lawyer of Beijing DeHeng Law Offices from May 2005 to November 2007, a lawyerof Beijing JunZeJun Law Offices from May 2002 to May 2005 and a senior manager ofthe Legal Department of China Securities Corporation from March 2001 to May 2002.Ms. Chen is a first-grade lawyer. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in law from thelaw faculty of Peking University in 1985 and graduated from post-graduate level class inaccounting at the Business School of Jilin University in 2000. Ms. Chen is currently anemployee of the Bank’s substantial shareholder, Huijin.Dong Shi Non-executive director Mr. Dong has served as a director since September 2011. He has served as a director ofboth China Reinsurance (Group) Corporation and China Reinsurance Asset ManagementCo., Ltd. since October 2008. Mr. Dong served consecutively as Assistant SpecialInspector of the State Council, Division-Chief of the Supervisory Committee of CentralEnterprises Working Commission and Deputy Director-General of the Foreign AffairsBureau under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission fromAugust 1998 to September 2008. Mr. Dong made a study visit to the Federal Reserve ofthe United States in 1994 and studied at RMIT University in Australia in 1996. Mr. Dong isa senior economist and accountant. Mr. Dong graduated from Zhengzhou University witha bachelor’s degree in finance in 1988 and obtained his master’s degree in economic lawfrom the Renmin University of China in 2002. Mr. Dong is currently an employee of theBank’s substantial shareholder, Huijin.Yam Chi Kwong,JosephIndependentnon-executive directorMr. Yam Chi Kwong, Joseph, has served as a director since August 2010. He was ChiefExecutive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority from 1993 to September 2009 andDirector of the Office of the Exchange Fund of Hong Kong from 1991 to 1993. Mr. Yamheld a number of positions in the Hong Kong Government from 1971 to 1991. Mr. Yam iscurrently the Executive Vice President of the China Society for Finance and Banking in thePRC, a Distinguished Research Fellow of the Institute of Global Economics and Financeat the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Chairman of Macroprudential ConsultancyLimited. Mr. Yam is also a member of the advisory committees of a number of academicand private institutions focusing in finance. Mr. Yam graduated from the University of HongKong with first class honours in 1970, receiving a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree. Healso obtained his post-graduate diploma in Statistics and National Accounting from theInstitute of Social Studies of the Hague, the Netherlands in 1974. Over the years, he wasconferred a number of honourary doctorate degrees and professorships from universitiesin Hong Kong and overseas. Mr. Yam was awarded the Commander of the Most ExcellentOrder of the British Empire in 1995, the Gold Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong SpecialAdministrative Region Government in 2001, and the highest honour of the Grand BauhiniaMedal by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in 2009.China Construction Bank Corporation annual report <strong>2012</strong>75
