computer hacking etc., nor have we had the<br />

haunting spectre of the possibility of having<br />

genetic predictions, prior to birth, of an<br />

individual’s likelihood of growing up violent.<br />

Globalisation, the continuing movement of<br />

products, finance, people, firearms, illicit drugs,<br />

plants and animals, and information, will test us<br />

severely. What we know is that, however we<br />

anticipate the future, it is not going to be a<br />

continuation of the past.<br />
