(57) Abstract : The invention relates to a method for the
production of a three-dimensional, flexibly deformable surface
element made of wood or a wood composite material for
finishing layered, three-dimensional formed parts or for coating
three-dimensional formed parts. A work piece made of wood,
laminated wood or a wood composite material and one or more
additional surface materials are used to this end, the thickness of
which is at least 5 % bigger than the thickness of the 3D surface
( Figure: 01 )
element to be produced. Narrow grooves spaced from one another are made in the work piece, wherein the depth of the
groove is bigger or equal to the thickness of the 3D surface element and smaller than the thickness of the work piece. The
fraction of the work piece that goes beyond the thickness of the 3D surface element to be produced is then separated from
the remaining 3D surface element or is treated in such a way that, at least temporarily, no solid cohesion of the splines of
the future 3D surface element that have been separated by the grooves exists. The areas of the work piece that have been
divided from one another by the grooves are fixed to one another and/or to a support by a cross joint before, during or
after separation from the work piece.
