A method for production of a cooling plate (50, 80) with integrated coolant ducts for iron and steel
making furnaces from an ingot of copper, characterized by the steps of:
continuously casting said ingot of copper by means of a continuous casting mould (10) as a
perform of said cooling plate (50, 80), wherein rod-shaped inserts (28) in a casting duct (20) of
said continuous casting mould (10) produce cast-in ducts (52, 84) running in the continuous
casting direction through said ingot of copper; and
manufacturing said cooling plate (50, 80) from said continuously cast perform, wherein said castin
ducts (52, 84) form integrated coolant ducts in said cooling plate (50, 80).
