(57) Abstract: The present invention relates to an amino-functional polysiloxane of formula
(1)R>2-0-[-SIR>1352< (1) WHERIN EACH R>1< is
independently selected from the group comprising alky1 and ary1 radicals, each R>23< is a bivalent radical or –O-R>35< is hydroxy or alkoxy, and R>5< is selected
from the group comprising hydrogen, aminoalkyl, aminoalkenyl, aminoaryl, aminocycloalkyl
radical, optionally substituted by alkyl, aryl, cyaloalkyl, halogen, hydroxy, alkoxy, thinoalkyl,
amino, amino derivatives, amido, amidoxy, nitro, cyano, keto, acyl derivatives, acyloxy
derivatives, carboxy, ester, ether, esteroxy, heterocycle, alkenyl or alkynyl and wherein 0 to 90%
of –O-R>35< is hydroxy or alkoxy. The present invention further relates to an epoxypolysiloxane
composition obtainable by combining the following ingredients : (a) a polysiloxane
of formula (4), wherein each R>1’< is independently selected from the group comprising hydroxy,
alkyl and alkoxy radicals having up to six carbon atoms, each R>2< is independently selected from
the group comprising hydrogen, alkyl and aryl radicals having up to six carbon atoms and, wherein
n is selected so that the molecular weight for the polysiloxane is in the range of from about 400 to
10,000, with R>21’2< (4) (b) an epoxy resin having more than
one 1,2-epoxy groups per molecule with an epoxy equivalent weight in the range of from 100 to
about 5,000; and (c) an aminopolysiloxane hardener component or an amino-functional
polysiloxane hardener component of resin to form epoxy polymers, and able to react with the
polysiloxane polymers polymerize to form a cured epoxy –polysiloxane polymers composition.
