The present invention relates to an improved process for the preparation of aralkylated aromatic
compounds by catalytic alkylation of aromatic compounds with aromatic alkylating agent using a solid
catalyst comprising gallium. The process for this invention can be used for the preparation of alkylated
aromatic compounds, which are fine chemicals and /or used in the preparation of fine chemicals.
Further, the process utilizes a active solid catalyst that can be reused repeatedly for the catalytic
reaction.
