(57) Abstract:
An apparatus for transferring ionic species from a first
liquid to a second liquid comprising:
- at least two either cat-ion exchange membranes
(CEM) or an-ion exchange membranes (AEM)
defining a first chamber for the first liquid there
between,
- at least two further chambers for the second liquid,
each further chamber being located adjacent to at
least one first chamber,
- a set of end membranes embracing said first
chamber and said further chambers,
- means for applying an electric field over the
membranes.
