(57) Abstract : The invention relates to a cleaning/washing composition having a system <strong>of</strong> at least two<br />

liquids, which are present above their mutual miscibility limits, such that the composition is not a single<br />

homogenous clear phase. It specifically relates to a cleaning composition comprising:<br />

i. a non-polar phase comprising one or more liquids having an electric dipole moment less than that <strong>of</strong> water<br />

wherein at least 10% <strong>of</strong> the said non-polar phase has an electric dipole moment greater than 0.8 debye;<br />

ii. a polar liquid;<br />

wherein the non-polar <strong>and</strong> polar liquids are present at levels above their mutual miscibility limits, such that they form at<br />

least two immiscible phases.<br />
