Yinka 2000 tavaszán kezdett el Oele és Greenfield producerekkel dolgozni,
s együttesével hamar ismertté váltak nu jazz körökben. Ugyanazon
év végén az együttes bemutatkozott egy saját klub-éjszakájával az amszterdami
Café Meander-ben.
Zenéjük receptje sajátos keverék – enyhén soul-os muzsika, leheletnyi henyéléssel,
s némi romlott mámorral. A zene lényege, hogy stimulálja, és
kielégítse az ünnep iránti elemi vágyat, hogy felül tudjunk emelkedni a hétköznapokon.
Ahogy a Jazz Magazine írta: Yinka dalai egyszer szerelmes
dalok, melyek azonban az abszolút és egyetemes szerelemrõl szólnak.
Eddigi koncertjeik csúcspontja a litvániai Kaunas Jazzfesztivál volt, ahol
4000 fonyi közönséget hoztak vad extázisba. Yinka karrierjének egy másik
fénypontja, a királyi pár esküvõjekor megrendezett koncert volt, melyen
színültig telt az amszterdami Arena stadion.
Yinka az élõ bizonyítéka annak, hogy a zenének nincsenek korlátai. Londonban
született, Nigériában nõtt fel, most Hollandiában él, ahol a holland
zenei élet krémjével dolgozik együtt.
Yinka began working with producers Oele ad Greenfield in the spring of
2000 and rapidly became known in the live circuit. In the Fall of that
same year the band started out with their own clubnight at the Cafe
Meander in Amsterdam. This provided the perfect opportunity to develop the songs and to establish the band Yinka. The recipe of the music
is a mixture of various blends, slightly Soulful, a touch Loungy, sometimes trippy and seductive. The main objective of this music is to stimulate
and to satisfy the basic need to celebrate and to elevate your lives... Like Jazz Magazine wrote, „the songs by Yinka are no ordinary lovesongs,
but are about absolute and universal love”.
Yinka is a living proof that music has no bounderies! Born in London, raised in Nigeria and now living in Amsterdam performing with some of
the finest musician in the Dutch live circuit. One of the highlights in Yinka’s musical carreer was her appearance in a sold out Amsterdam Arena
stadium durig the weddingparty of the Price of the Netherlands.

A jakut zenei életrõl nem sok hír jut el világunkba, pedig a 90-es évek
elején olyan bandák jelentek meg, mint a CHOLBON vagy az AI-TAL,
amelyek sajátos zenei világukkal különálló m fajt teremtettek: a szaharoga-t.
Ezt a vonulatot újítja meg Valentina Romanova együttesével. Õ
maga kultúrakutató és 1997-ben alapította meg együttesét a Chïskïïrai-t
(ejtsd: Csiszkiráj). Zenéjük az improvizativ népköltészeten alapul, amit a
blues és rock egyedülálló jakut formájába öntenek. Mivel zenéjük improvizatív,
megírt dalaik nincsenek, ezért minden koncert egyedi és megismételhetetlen
pszichedelikus szeánsz. Alapvetõ céljuk az eredeti, természeti
hangzásokhoz való visszatérés. Ahogy Valentina mondja, minden
hangszer külön-külön, saját adottságaihoz képest improvizál, hoz létre
hangokat, ahogy az erdõ zajai is külön-külön kelnek életre és halnak el:
mégis egységet alkotnak.
It is not much we know about the Jakut musical life although its representatives
in the beginning of the 90s were bands like the CHOLBON or
the AI-TAL, which established a new genre in music, called saharoga. It
was Valentina Romanova who had reformed this musical movement.
She is an expert on culture and established her band Ciskiiray in 1997.
Their music is based on the improvisativ folk-poetry, embedded in the native music mixed with the elements of jazz and blues. Since their music
is improvised they do not have composed pieces and all of the concerts are unique and irreproducible psychedelic séance. Their primary aim
is to return to natural tunes. Valentina says, every instrument has its own different way of improvisation as the tunes of the forest have their
own different ways of rising and vanishing to form a unit in the end.
