Élete során Lesya számos különbözõ táncformát és tánctechnikát tanult. Torontóban
született ukrán és angol szülõk gyermekeként, s ötéves korában ismerkedett
meg az ukrán táncokkal. Egy évvel késõbb elkezdte 7 éves ritmusgimnasztikai tanulmányait
Marie Porcivnál. Késõbb a õsi közel-keleti táncokban találta meg saját
stílusát, s számos ismert tánctanárnál folytatott tanulmányokat, de mindemellett tanult
még flamencót, klasszikus kínai táncot, afrikai táncokat, Breakdance-t és Hip-
Hop-ot, tantrikus buddhista mandalatáncot, azeri, perzsa és cigány táncokat, Butoh
gyakorlatokat, valamint Kundalini- és Hatha-jógát, Tai Chi-t és Qi Qong-ot. 1992-tõl
több zenésszel is fellépett, így a spanyol Rosa Zaragozával, és a Le Cirque du Soleillel
stb. 1992 és 1997 között az ON nev zenekar énekesnõje, Barcelonában.
Számos divatbemutatón tevékenykedett, mint koreográfus, majd 98-ban kezdte szóló
karrierjét, mint táncos. Legújabb munkája a „Nimfa projekt”, mely táncot, élõ zenét és videó projektoros vetítést is tartalmaz. 2001-ben Lesya
megnyitotta saját tánciskoláját Barcelonában, ahol közel-keleti táncokat és az általa kifejlesztett egyedi orientális táncstílust tanítja.
During her lifetime, Lesya has studied a variety of different dance forms and techniques. Born in Toronto, Canada of Ukrainian and English descent,
at the age of 5 she was introduced to Ukrainian dance. One year later she began her 7 year training in rhythm gymnastics with Marie
Prociw. At the age of 17, she began to investigate dance as a sourse of personal expression and found herself attracted to the ancient art of
Middle Eastern dance (Raqs Sharqi). Along with her investigation in Middle Eastern dance, Lesya has also studied Kathak (Toronto), Flamenco
(Jose de La Vega; Gloria Belen, Barcelona), Classical Chinese dance (Toronto), African dance (Djebril; Nicole, Barcelona), Hip Hop (Randolf
School of the Performing Arts,Toronto), Breakdance (with some members of the Barcelona Addictos, Barcelona), Tantric Buddist Mandala
dance (Prema Dasara, Toronto), Gypsy dance from Rajastan (Maharaja Group, Barcelona), Azeri dance and Persian dance (Sashar Zarif,
Toronto and Barcelona), Butoh practises (Natalie, BCN), Kundalini Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Tai Chi, and Qi Qong. Lesya has performed with the
Spanish singer, Rosa Zaragoza since 1992, with Circ Crac in 1999 (Barcelona), Le Cirque du Soleil in 2000 & 2001 (London and France), and
Mediterranean music group, Wesak since 1999 (Barcelona). Lesya was the female vocalist in the band, ON between 1992 and 1997. She has
worked as choreographer for a number of fashion shows. Lesya created her own dance company in 1998, called „Deeproduction” and choreographed
and danced in the piece, „Orientation” which was an experiment of past meets future using the Middle Eastern dance vocabulary.
Deeproduction is currently working on a new piece called „The Nymph Project” which incorporates dance, live music, original musical scores,
and video projection. In 2001 Lesya opened her own dance academy in Barcelona, called, „Dusty Stars”. She currently resides in Barcelona,
Spain teaching Middle Eastern dance and performing her own personally developed style of Oriental dance. She also organizes workshops,
inviting dance instructors from different walks of life to embellish the performing arts community of Barcelona.
