5.1.7 Adding tables, links, text, and images Studio Site Developer provides tools for adding text, tables, links, and images to your HTML or JSP pages. Working with text Working with text is simple. Place the cursor in the Source view where you want the text to go and start typing. Pressing the Enter key at the line of text will enter a break tag. To start a new paragraph, just move the cursor down. As you work with the text, you will find several useful toolbar options. For example, you can select text and use icons to make it bold, center it, enlarge it, change the font, or underline it. Working with tables Working with tables is easy when done from the Design view. Figure 5-22 shows the various tools available for creating tables. The Table drop-down has a variety of options that allow you to manipulate the table configuration. The Attributes view allows you to assign characteristics to tables and rows. Adding a table Position the cursor to the point where you want the table. Select Insert -> table. Enter the number of rows and columns, then click OK. Resizing a table You can resize the table by selecting the columns, rows, or the complete table and dragging to the new size. Otherwise, the table cells will be the size of whatever their content is. Table attributes Attributes for the table can be set using the Attributes view. The attributes listed in Table 5-3 can be set. The types of links you can choose from are file, http, FTP, e-mail, or other. Tip: You can also drag and drop files into the page from the Project Navigator bar, the Thumbnail view, or even from Windows Explorer. When you do this, a window opens with options that determine how the file is included. In this window, you simply state that you want a link to the file inserted. If the file is from a directory outside of the project, the file will be copied into the project directly under the Web Content directory. You can move this to another directory by dragging it to the folder in the Navigator view. The links will be automatically updated to reflect the new location. Adding a text link Text links are inserted by selecting Insert -> Link from the toolbar.
