12.2.5 Wizards
To use an action, select it from the drawer and then click anywhere on the
free-form surface to place it. With connections, click Connection from the
drawer, then click one node and then another to create the connection.
Realizing Web diagram parts
Once you have added a node to the Web diagram editor, it will be unrealized. An
unrealized node is represented as a grayed out icon within the Web diagram
editor. When the node becomes realized, the icon will change color. Simply put,
an unrealized node is a node that is just an icon on the free-form surface and is
yet to be created (realized); think of it as a place holder for the node.
To realize an unrealized node, double-click the node to invoke the appropriate
wizard. For a JSP, HTML page, action mapping, Web application, Java bean, and
form bean, only one wizard exists. When double-clicking a Module node, either
the Module wizard or Action Mapping wizard will be invoked. The Module wizard
is opened if the module does not exist and the Action Mapping wizard will open if
the entry point action mapping does not exit.
To realize a declared or procedural data reference connection, you must first
realize the source of the connection. If the source is realized, the appropriate
editor is launched where you are able to enter the required code to make the
connection realized.
Note: Unrealized connections are indicated in the Web diagram editor with a
dashed line. As soon as the connection is realized, the line becomes solid.
For a detailed explanation of the wizards, see 12.2.5, “Wizards” on page 405..
Note: You can also realize an unrealized node by identifying it as an existing
node. If doing this, there are resolution rules that need to be followed for each
node. Please refer to the WebSphere Studio Site Developer product help for
more information.
Studio Site Developer also provides you with the following wizards to aid in the
creation of a Struts-based application. These wizards can be found by selecting
File -> New -> Other -> Web -> Struts from the workbench main menu.
