In order to use the J2EE role-based security mechanisms provided by Express
Application Server, you first must turn on WebSphere global security for the
server. You can do this from the server configuration.
1. Switch to the Server perspective.
2. Open the appropriate server configuration in the Server Configuration view.
3. Switch to the Security tab.
4. Select the Enable Security option.
5. Enter a user ID and password. This can be any valid user on the server
operating system. The user ID and password will be used when starting the
server. Note that if you leave this blank or fill in a user ID/password
combination that is not valid, you will not be able to start the server.
You will need to republish the application and restart the server for all changes to
take effect. The next time you attempt to execute the JSP, you will be challenged
for a user ID and password. The user ID you enter must be assigned the
CatalogAdmin role.
