8.2.1 Preferences and properties<br />

Within the workbench preferences and project properties dialogs, there are<br />

several options available to you for customization.<br />

Preferences<br />

The Preferences dialog can be opened by selecting Window -> Preferences<br />

from the workbench main menu. The JSP Files page can be displayed by<br />

expanding Web and XML Files from the left pane and clicking JSP Files. The<br />

JSP Annotations, JSP Macros, and JSP Styles pages can be found by exanding<br />

the JSP Files option.<br />

JSP files<br />

► Allows you to select line delimiters for the operating system that applies to<br />

your development. Line delimiters are used to indicate the start of a new line.<br />

► Allows you to use the workbench encoding when creating files, or you can<br />

specify another one from the Encoding drop-down list.<br />

8.2.2 Web perspective<br />

JSP annotations<br />

Allows you to specify the annotation colors for the default JSP editor.<br />

JSP macros<br />

This page allows you to create, delete, or edit macros available to you when<br />

creating JSPs.<br />

JSP styles<br />

You can specify the syntax highlighing colors for the default JSP editor.<br />

Properties<br />

The Properties dialog can be opened by right-clicking your project and selecting<br />

Properties from the context menu. Select JSP Fragment from the left pane to<br />

display the page properties.<br />

JSP fragments<br />

You can specify the encoding, language, and content type for the JSPs in the<br />

project.<br />

There are many aids to use when adding code to a JSP in the Web perspective.<br />

You can see some of these in Figure 8-2 on page 258. This looks a little messy<br />

but it is done for illustrative purposes.<br />
