Tip: If you want to see how the taglibs are used in the example applications, a quick way to find them is to use the search facility. Start by loading the application to the workspace. Open the web.xml file and use the References tab to find the URI. Then select Search from the toolbar and enter the URI as the search argument. This will give you a list of files that have the URI, presumably in a taglib directive. Click an entry to open the file to that location. Note the prefix used for the taglib in the code and scan the code for instances of where it is used. Example Tag library Your company example DateTime FileIO Filter Fileserv I18n Page Request Response Session FileIO Tag Library (from IBM) Basic file operations. This library implements a file rename and file delete action on the file system. Filter tag library (from IBM) This filters HTML markup for presentation of user-entered data. That is, a user enters the following in a text entry field: Hello World. The filter tag is used when data is to be presented on a page. It keeps the HTML markup from being processed and printed as bold text. SSLext tag library (from IBM) The SSLext tag library provides seamless integration of SSL into the Web application, allowing secure transmission of Web pages between the Web browser and Express Application Server. Information on using this tag library can be found in the readme file for the customer service example application. Scrape tag library The Scrape tag library can scrape or extract content from Web documents and display the content in your JSP. For example, you could scrape stock quotes from other Web sites and display them in your pages. 9.3 Using a tag library in the Online Catalog sample Within the Online Catalog sample, tag libraries are used extensively.
