This connection also uses servlet initialization parameters, though they are<br />

slightly different from the data source connection. Figure 6-32 shows the servlet<br />

initialization parameters for a driver manager connection.<br />

Note: The servlet initialization parameters used for a driver manager<br />

connection include the JDBC driver class name. You will need to make sure<br />

that the server has access to this driver at runtime by adding the JAR file<br />

containing the driver to the server class path. This is done in the server<br />

configuration (Paths tab). Use the Add External JARS option. Drivers (other<br />

than Cloudscape) are provided by the database product. <strong>Server</strong> configuration<br />

is covered in 13.6, “Working with server configurations” on page 483.<br />

6.2.8 Defining a resource reference for the data source (optional)<br />

Resource references can be defined for many types of objects. In <strong>WebSphere</strong><br />

<strong>Application</strong> <strong>Server</strong> - Express, this will most likely be a data source. The resource<br />
