The controller is responsible for dispatching presentation pages based on
request parameters and application state data.
You can choose to automatically create a new controller, reuse an existing
controller, or not use a controller at all. If you choose to not use a
controller, that functional layer of processing is not performed and the JSP
is called directly from the HTML page. In this example, we opt to not use
the front controller.
6. Click Next. The following series of pages lets you design the pages. This
function is limited but gives you a starting point for future modifications. These
changes override CSS Style settings and the new settings are placed in style
tags in the corresponding pages. The first page shows you the input HTML
page.
– Host variables: Make sure the ITEM_LONG_DESC variable is selected.
This is represented by the input field you see on the page. If you deselect
this variable, the input field (and label) will be removed from the page on
the right.
– Page tab: In the lower left corner of the window you will see two tabs.
Clicking the items on the Page tab allows you to change the background,
title, and field colors.
Change the page title from the default, Input Form to something more
meaningful, like Search Catalog.
– Fields tab: The fields tab lets you change the attributes of the variable
selected in the Host Variables view.
Change the label (the text shown to the left of the variable in the page) to
Search For.
