Update the FeaturedItemXMLServlet servlet The FeaturedItemXMLSevlet.java file has the path to the FeaturedItem.xst file hardcoded. The current path in the servlet is set to the path of our test machine. You must change the path to point to your local machine. 1. In the Web perspective, expand the JavaSource folder and then expand the featureditem package. 2. Double-click FeaturedItemXMLServlet.java to open the servlet in the Java editor. 3. Locate the line in the servlet that sets the xstFile variable and change the /Documents and Settings/bogers/My Documents/IBM/wasexpress51/workspace value to point to the workspace path on your local machine. 4. Save your changes and close the editor. Set up the database The sample uses a DB2 database called SALESAPP. If you do not have DB2, a development copy is supplied with WebSphere Application Server - Express. 1. Install DB2. During the installation you will be asked to provide a name and password for the administrator. Use db2admin for both the name and password. This user will be created for you on the operating system. Note: If you use a user ID and password other than db2admin, you may run into problems. These are assumed several places in the application. If you use something else, be sure to change the dbconn.jspinc, FeaturedItem.xst, and db.properties files in the application. By default, the db2java.zip file does not support the JDBC 2.0 specification. You need to open the sqllib\java12 folder and execute usejdbc2.bat to copy the correct drivers to the zip file. 2. Open a command window and change to the directory where you unzipped the additional materials file. 3. Execute Step 1-RunCreateDB.cmd. 4. Open the DB2 Control Center. Right click the SALESAPP database and select Authorities. 5. Click Add User. 6. Select the DB2ADMIN user and click OK. 7. Select (highlight) DB2ADMIN in the list of users and click Grant All. 8. 9. Execute Step 2 -RunSalesapp.cmd. Create the test server environment To create the test server environment: 1. In the Web perspective, open the Servers view. 2. Right-click in the view and select New -> Server and Server Configuration. 3. Enter a Server name (LocalTestServer, for example) and select the Express Test Environment option under WebSphere version 5.0. 4. Click Finish. Configure a data source The JSPs used within the Online Catalog sample use a data source for all database connections. To setup a data source in Studio Site Developer: 1. Open the Server perspective. 2. From the Server Configuration view, right-click the WebSphere Express V5.0 Test Environment server and select Open from the context menu. This opens the server configuration editor. 3. Click the Data source tab. The Data sources page is displayed. 4. Click Add... beside the JDBC provider list table. The Create a JDBC Provider dialog opens. 5. Select IBM DB2 from the Database type select box and then select DB2 JDBC Provider from the JDBC provider type select box. 6. Click Next. 7. Enter the value DB2 Driver in the Name field. 8. Click Finish. The JDBC provider is added to the list box. 9. Select the DB2 Driver entry from the JDBC provider list and then click Add... beside the Data source defined in the JDBC provider selected above table. The Create a Data Source dialog opens. 10.Verify the DB2 Legacy CLI-based Type 2 JDBC Driver is selected as the JDBC provider type and verify that the Version 5.0 data source radio button is selected. 11.Click Next. 12.Enter SALESAPP in the Name field. 13.Enter jdbc/salesapp in the JNDI name field. 14.Click Next.
