3.2 Perspectives<br />

Perspectives provide different ways of viewing and working with resources. A<br />

perspective consists of a set of views, editors, and toolbar options suited to the<br />

task most likely performed within that perspective. For example, the <strong>Server</strong><br />

perspective is designed with server or unit test environment operation in mind.<br />

There is a view for the server console, a view that shows server configurations, a<br />

view that allows you to start and stop servers, and so forth. The Web perspective<br />

is designed for a Web application developer and, by default, views and tools are<br />

available that are most suited for that task.<br />

For example, Figure 3-4 on page 48 shows the default layout for the Web<br />

perspective. The Web perspective is used primarily to develop Web application<br />

resources, such as HTML and JSP files.<br />
