XSL wizard
This is a tool for creating XSL files. To create a new file from scratch, use the
New XSL wizard as follows:
1. Select File -> New -> XSL to launch the New XSL wizard.
2. In the File name field, type your XSL file name.
3. Click Finish. The XSL file is created and the XSL editor is automatically
opened for you.
XML and SQL Query wizard
This wizard allows you to create an XML file with the results from an SQL query.
Before you can use the wizard, you must first create a SQL query using the SQL
Query builder (see “Building SQL statements using the SQL Query Builder” on
page 211).
Once you have created your query, you can also start the wizard from any
perspective. Follow these steps to start the XML from SQL query wizard:
1. Select File -> New -> Other -> XML -> XML and SQL Query, then click
Next.
2. Select the Create XML from SQL query radio button, then click Next.
3. On the Select SQL Statements page, expand your project and select your
SQL statement. Click Next.
4. Complete the wizard using the options described below.
5. When you have finished selecting your options, click Finish to run the XML
from SQL query wizard.
Specify mapping patterns
The wizard allows you to choose from a number of different default patterns
when mapping your relational data to an XML format. They include:
► Mapping table columns as elements.
► Mapping table columns as attributes.
► Mapping table columns as elements using primary keys as attributes.
► Mapping using foreign keys as links.
The presence of foreign keys specifies a relationship between two tables. When
generating XML files from a table that has a foreign key, there are two options
that you can choose from:
► Select Foreign keys as links only. If you select this option, the tool will map
all the foreign key relationships into a single XML document. This will create a
hierarchical document that reflects the foreign key relationship.
