Tips: To predefine file transfer mechanisms, you can set up the copy or file
transfer mechanisms ahead of time by using File -> New -> Other ->
Remote Transfer File. Give each remote file transfer definition a
meaningful name (for example, ToServerx or ToLocalTest) so you can
easily select the appropriate profile when you are creating server
configurations.
To change the file transfer mechanism used to publish to a server: If you
want to change the remote file transfer definition to be used to publish to a
server, open the Server definition (in the Servers Configuration view) and
change the designation on the Servers page.
7. Select an HTTP port. The default is 7080.
8. Click Finish.
13.5.2 Publishing the application
Publishing an application to a remote server works the same way as in the test
environment. To publish an application to the remote server:
1. Select the server in the Server Configuration view, right-click, and select Add
and remove projects....
2. Select the enterprise application in the Available Projects list and click Add.
3. Click Finish. You will see an entry for the application appear under the server
in the Server Configuration view.
4. Select the server in the Servers view, right-click, and select Publish.
5. If the application will require any server definitions (for example, class path or
data source information), see 13.6, “Working with server configurations” on
page 483 for information on how to make these configuration changes.
What happens when you deploy an application
When you deploy an application to an Express Application Server, the file
structure required by the server is created and the files are copied to the server.
You can see the new folders in two places on the server:
► /installedApps/DefaultNode/.ear
► /config/cells/DefaultNode/applications/.ear
