MethodologyLevente Székely: Methodological note to accompanythe Hungarian Youth 2012 surveyThe Hungarian Youth 2012 survey, conducted by Kutatópont, is the fourthwave of the series of research entitled Youth, begun at the turn of the millenium.The present methodological note serves to introduce the major parametersof research, from planning the survey to interpreting data includedin the volume.In the course of research, we interviewed 8000 young people betweenthe age of fifteen and twenty-nine using the CAPI (Computer Assisted PersonalInterviewing) technique. The questions put to interviewees addresseda broad range of issues the age group faces.The sample of the research is representative of the Hungarian populationaged between fifteen and twenty-nine in terms of region, type of settlement,age and gender. The sample was compiled with multi level samplingand with the method of clustered probability sampling.The questionnaire used to conduct the survey was organised into ten largerthematical chapters; the time of completion averaged at seventy minutes.358
