Dermal fillers
Dermal fillers are cosmetic procedures which can be either
synthetic or biological. The materials are injected through
thin needles in the skin or beneath it, in order to fill in
wrinkles or to enforce and support a delimited area of the
body or face. Fillers were first used at the end of the 1960’s
in the shape of injectable silicon oil to remove facial blemishes.
Silicon oil was prohibited in the 1980’s and is still prohibited
today. The hyaluronic acid is now one of the most
used products. Temporary fillers last on average 3-4
months, but they can last more or less depending on the
individual and on lifestyle, smoking and drinking habits, exposure
to sunlight or UV lamps. According to the Italian
Society of Plastic Surgery (SICPRE), cosmetic surgery treatments
in the world over the last year have been
8,700,000, while plastic surgery treatments have been
8,500,000. In Italy, plastic surgery treatments have decreased
by 40%, showing a growing trend towards softer
and non-invasive treatments. Fillers’ main contraindications
regards pregnancy, breastfeeding, autoimmune diseases,
ongoing skin infections and allergies to the products used.
Injections are performed in day surgery, with no need of
hospitalization and anaesthesia.
The main possible side effects are small haematomas,
while the effect and the recovery are immediate.
The surgeon decides what kind of filler is the most recommended
for the patient just after a medical examination,
in order to guarantee the best results and the highest safety
for the patient.
Today, people look for a natural result. Touch-ups are welcome,
but in moderation.
Filler
Il filler o derma filler è un mezzo di origine biologica o sintetica
che viene veicolato, attraverso aghi sottilissimi, nell’ipoderma o
nel derma, in modo da riempire le rughe e sostenere o implementare
un’area delimitata del viso o del corpo.
I primi utilizzi risalgono alla fine degli anni '60 sotto forma di olio
di silicone per rimediare agli inestetismi del viso. L’olio di silicone
è stato poi definitivamente vietato negli anni ottanta e tutt’oggi ne
è proibito l’uso. L'acido ialuronico invece è, allo stato attuale, uno
dei prodotti più utilizzati. I fillers riassorbibili hanno durata limitata
(in media 3-4 mesi), ma esiste un’estrema variabilità di permanenza
del materiale stesso nel derma, che varia da soggetto a soggetto
ed è influenzata anche dallo stile di vita, l’abitudine al fumo,
l'assunzione abituale di alcolici, l’esposizione al sole o alle lampade
abbronzanti. Secondo la Sicpre l’anno scorso nel mondo i trattamenti
di medicina estetica sono stati 8 milioni e 700 mila contro
gli 8 milioni e 500 mila interventi di chirurgia plastica (questi ultimi
in Italia dal 2009 sono diminuiti di circa il 40%), a dimostrare la
tendenza, ormai generalizzata, a ricorrere a trattamenti estetici
più “soft” e mininvasivi. Le principali controindicazioni all’utilizzo
del filler sono rappresentate da: gravidanza, allattamento, malattie
autoimmuni, infezioni cutanee in atto e allergie note ai prodotti
utilizzati. Le iniezioni avvengono in regime di day surgery,
senza ricovero e le tecniche di infiltrazione non necessitano di
alcun tipo di anestesia. I principali effetti collaterali sono rappresentati
da piccoli ematomi a seguito dell'impianto stesso. I risultati
e la ripresa di tutte le normali attività sono immediati. Soltanto
dopo la visita della paziente, il medico potrà decidere quale tipo
di filler sia maggiormente indicato per ottenere il massimo risultato
di correzione dell'inestetismo con la massima sicurezza per la
paziente.Oggi la tendenza è la "naturalezza", quindi sì al ritocchino,
ma del tipo "c'è ma non si vede".
