Jim Abrhams and above all Kevin Foxe, who was for me a
true guardian. I worked with him as the producer of the
movie The Ghost Experiment, whose director was Kevin. We
will work together again on the movie Death Cam, whose
principal photography will begin in a few months.
You’ve been working in the US with American actors, directors
and producers. What about Italy?
Yes, I am. At the moment, I’m working on the post-production
of The Opening, a drama movie shot in Calabria and
starring Danny Queen and Maria Grazia Cucinotta. I also
worked with Walter Nudo in Hopeful Notes, which earned
me the Social Commitment Awards at the 2010 Venice
International Film Festival. Soon I will start shooting a very
funny movie, Boiate – The Movie, starring many Italian and
international cinema and TV celebrities. It is a compilation of
candid cameras, jokes and challenges of “crazy” people ready
for anything in order to challenge themselves and the others.
Let’s go back to dreams and the US. Can you tell us something
about your movie All You Can Dream, which will be
premiered at this year’s Giffoni Film Festival?
All You Can Dream is a sweet and entertaining comedy
about a young girl who has been struggling against
obesity for all her life.
Music will give her confidence and help her make her dreams
come true. I want to make the audience aware of this
widespread social phenomenon and make them change their
approach to dietary disturbs.
I succeeded in involving the singer Anastacia, who was glad to
be part of this project with her image and voice.
We know that your involvement in communication, in Italy
and, most of all, abroad, earned you an important award.
Do you want to talk about it?
I’m proud of having received a honorary degree in
Communication Sciences from the Università degli Studi
Giovanni Paolo I. I’m convinced that my challenge to establish
myself in the international cinema industry gives this award
even more prominence. That doesn’t mean I don’t have to
put myself to test… I still have a lot to learn.

tutore.
Ho lavorato con lui come produttore del film The Ghost Experiment,
di cui Kevin è regista e collaboreremo ancora nel film Death Cam, di
cui inizieremo le riprese nei prossimi mesi.
Hai lavorato in America con attori, registi e produttori americani.
E in Italia? Hai qualche progetto?
Sì. Attualmente sto lavorando alla post-produzione di The Opening,
film drammatico girato in Calabria con Danny Queen e Maria Grazia
Cucinotta. Ho anche lavorato con Walter Nudo in Note di speranza,
film che mi è valso il premio per l’impegno sociale al Festival del
Cinema di Venezia.
A breve inizieremo le riprese di un film esilarante dal titolo Boiate –
The Movie, con la partecipazione di celebrities del cinema e della TV
italiana.
Si tratta di una raccolta di candid camera, scherzi e sfide di gente
“fuori di testa” e pronta a tutto pur di sfidare se stessi e gli altri!
Tornando ai sogni e agli Stati Uniti, parlaci un po’ del film All You Can
Dream, che verrà proiettato in anteprima al Giffoni Film Festival di
quest’anno.
All You Can Dream è una commedia dolce e divertente che segue
l’evoluzione di una giovane ragazza che ha dovuto affrontare il problema
dell’obesità per tutta la sua vita e, grazie alla musica, acquisterà
fiducia e potrà realizzare i suoi sogni. L’intento è quello di stimolare la
consapevolezza del pubblico nei confronti di questa dilagante piaga
sociale e cambiare il modo in cui i disturbi dell’alimentazione vengono
percepiti. Sono anche riuscito a coinvolgere la famosa cantante
Anastacia, che molto volentieri ha prestato la sua immagine e la sua
voce a questo progetto.
Sappiamo che hai ricevuto un’onorificenza importante anche per il
tuo impegno nella comunicazione non solo in Italia, ma soprattutto all’estero.
Ce ne vuoi parlare?
Sono orgoglioso di aver ricevuto dall’ Università degli Studi Giovanni
Paolo I una laurea ad honorem in Scienze della Comunicazione.
Sono anche convinto che la sfida di crearmi una realtà cinematografica
all’estero abbia dato ancora maggior risalto a questa onorificenza.
Questo non significa che non devo sempre mettermi alla prova… ho
ancora tanto da imparare. n
