di beni e servizi.
Chi vive negli States come me sa bene che i dati personali e lo “score”
di credito sono noti a tutti e qualsiasi dato può essere reso pubblico
per pochi dollari.
L’America di oggi è una nazione in conflitto tra chi è americano da generazioni
(che resero grande il paese) e nuovi cittadini che non accettano
di integrarsi con gli altri.
Ciò che accomuna apparentemente tutti è il consumismo sfrenato ed
i propri diritti da tutelare, dimenticando però i numerosi doveri che li
aspettano. Questa situazione è il risultato di interessi di pochi a discapito
dei molti, se il paese non tornerà ad essere un esempio di democrazia
ed integrazione sarà la fine di un grande buon esempio per
tutto il mondo e la caduta sarà drammatica, come fu per l’Impero
Romano.
Dobbiamo ed abbiamo il dovere di sostenere e credere a quelle persone
che sono l’eccellenza dell’umanità che ancora hanno coraggio di
sognare americano.
Il tempo del nazionalismo è finito, c’è bisogno di buon senso comune
e di tecnologie, la sfida tra i due mondi è già cominciata, ma pochi la
sostengono perché la lungimiranza è un dono raro cosi come l’amore
per il proprio paese ospitante.
Si, è vero che oggi in America non si è più sicuri del proprio benessere
futuro ma resta sempre l’unico paese nel quale l’ottimismo è condizione
naturale, e la voglia di riuscire è condizione essenziale.

new American citizen. All these inner social tensions have
created a bureaucratic system similar to the European one,
which slows down citizens’ free initiative and makes him/her
feel under the control of video surveillance and fingerprints;
everyone is catalogued and controlled as consumers of goods
and services. Who lives in the United States like me knows
that the personal data and the "credit score" are known to
everyone and any data may be made public for a few dollars.
The US today is a nation in conflict between who is
American by generations (that contributed in making the
country a power) and new citizens who do not accept to integrate
with others. What seems to bind them all together is
unbridled consumerism and rights to protect, thus forgetting
the many duties they have. This situation is the result of the
interests of a few at the expense of many. If the country will
not turn to be once again an example of democracy and integration,
it will be a dramatic failure for the world. We
must support and believe in those excellent people who still
dare to dream in the American way. The time of nationalism
is finished and now common sense and technology are what
we need, a challenge between two worlds that has already
begun, even if supported by only a few, since far-sightedness
is a rare gift as well as the love for their host country . Yes,
people in America today are no more sure of their future
wealth, but it is still the only country in which optimism is natural
and common and the desire to succeed is essential.
