4.2. O <strong>Pinhal</strong> Interior Sul é uma região com uma reduzida <strong>de</strong>nsida<strong>de</strong> populacional e<br />
empresarial no contexto regional e nacional. Os indica<strong>do</strong>res <strong>de</strong> nível <strong>de</strong> vida PIB<br />
per capita e rendimento colectável registam valores consi<strong>de</strong>ravelmente inferiores<br />
às respectivas médias nacionais.<br />
• O <strong>Pinhal</strong> Interior Sul ocupa 2,1% <strong>do</strong> território<br />
nacional e a sua população representa 0,4% <strong>do</strong><br />
total <strong>do</strong> país, apresentan<strong>do</strong> uma <strong>de</strong>nsida<strong>de</strong><br />
populacional reduzida (22,1 hab/km 2, contra<br />
114,8 hab/km 2 no país), com tendência para se<br />
agravar, colocan<strong>do</strong>-o na 26ª posição entre as 30<br />
NUTS III.<br />
• A região apresenta uma <strong>de</strong>nsida<strong>de</strong> empresarial<br />
ligeiramente acima da média (14ª mais alta <strong>do</strong> país<br />
entre as 30 NUTS III), não obstante o PIB per capita ser<br />
<strong>do</strong>s mais baixos <strong>do</strong> país (23º mais eleva<strong>do</strong>) e o<br />
rendimento colectável representar apenas 36,1% da<br />
média nacional, o segun<strong>do</strong> mais baixo (29ª posição<br />
<strong>de</strong> entre todas as regiões NUTS III).<br />
