UMA ANÁLISE DO ACESSO AO CRÉDITO RURAL PARA ASUNIDADES PRODUTIVAS AGROPECUÁRIAS DO ESTADO DE SÃOPAULO: UM ESTUDO A PARTIR DO LUPA *Gabriela dos Santos Eusébio **Rudinei Toneto Jr. ***O artigo busca compreender e mensurar as características dos produtores rurais que ampliam aprobabilidade para que estes tenham acesso ao crédito rural. Utiliza-se o modelo de estimaçãoprobit com informações retiradas do Levantamento das Unidades Produtivas Agropecuárias (Lupa)do Estado de São Paulo (2007/2008), que abrange todas as unidades de produção agropecuária(UPAs) pertencentes aos 645 municípios do estado. Os resultados mostram que o fato de oprodutor pertencer a alguma cooperativa, associação e sindicato eleva a probabilidade de obtercrédito. Outro resultado importante é o impacto positivo causado na probabilidade de obtercrédito pela unidade possuir escrituração contábil. Além disso, pequenos produtores apresentamprobabilidade menor de obter crédito rural.Palavras-chave: Microeconometria; Crédito Rural; Probit.A REVIEW OF THE ACCESS TO RURAL CREDIT FOR AGRICULTURALPRODUCTION UNITS OF THE STATE OF SÃO PAULO: A STUDY FROM THE LUPAThis paper aims to understand and measure the characteristics of farmers which enhance theirlikelihood of having access to rural credit. We use the probit estimation model with informationfrom the Survey of Agricultural Production Units (Lupa, in Portuguese) of São Paulo (2007/2008),which covers all 645 Agricultural Production Units belonging to municipalities in the state. Theresults show that producers who belong to a cooperative, association or union are more likely toobtain credit. Another positive finding is that proper bookkeeping improves a unit’s likelihood ofobtaining credit.
