PRESS RELEASE ON THE PUBLIC APPEAL FOR
FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF THE PUBLICATION
OF THE MACEDONIAN NEWSPAPERS
«NEW DAWN» AND «PEOPLE›S WILL»
PUBLISHED IN GREECE AND BULGARIA

ollowing the news published on the financial status of Macedonian newspapers in Greece and
Bulgaria, their public appeal for financial assistance was immediately responded by the President
of the Macedonian Alliance, Gjorgia George Atanasoski, who publicly supported the action
and pledged to exert his authority, status and position among the Macedonian Diaspora
in order to provide immediate assistance and make efforts to ensure a long-term and stable
funding source for the newspapers «New Dawn» and «People›s Will».
Recently, the Macedonian newspaper «People›s Will», which is printed and published in Bulgaria, sent the following
letter to thank President Gjorgia George Atanasoski:
“Dear Mr. Gjorgia George Atanasoski,
Thank You for Your decision to support the release of the newspaper “People’s Will” with a concrete
and very significant financial donation. The newspaper is in a difficult financial situation and
Your assistance in this tragic moment for us, for all of us in the newsroom, is a great joy. Please receive
our great appreciation and gratitude for Your patriotic gesture, wishing You good health, happiness
and further success in life.

On this occasion, the President of the Macedonian Alliance, Gjorgia George Atanasoski, reaffirmed
his position on this issue:
The Macedonian newspaper “People’s Will” has long been in a difficult financial situation and
there is a threat of its complete close-down.
After the appeal published for financial help, we recognized our obligation to join the enthusiasm and strong will of Macedonians
in Bulgaria, who have, for more than 20 years, cherished the Macedonian tradition, language and culture precisely
through this newspaper, which represents a successful response to all provocations made towards the Macedonian people.
I consider it a patriotic duty to donate concrete assistance so that this newspaper does not stop working and continues
spreading the Macedonian cultural heritage. I will make additional efforts using activists in the Macedonian Diaspora to make
every effort together to ensure a long-term and stable source of funding.
I take this opportunity to reiterate the appeal to all Macedonians in the Homeland or beyond its borders, who have the
opportunity, to help the newspaper because only in this way will we enable our brothers living outside the borders of the
country to continue the fight for basic and universal rights that shall be enjoyed by every nation in the world, in a dignified
way.
I sincerely believe that our initiative will also be joined by other brothers of ours, because the written word is invaluable for
Macedonians abroad, who are struggling daily to spread the Macedonian truth.
