the other Member States, agreements on the lifting of visa requirements <strong>for</strong> holders of diplomatic,<br />

official or service passports with States whose nationals are subject to prior consultation <strong>for</strong> a visa to<br />

be issued by another Schengen State.<br />

8.3. If the visa in question is to be issued <strong>for</strong> accrediting an alien who is the subject of an alert <strong>for</strong> the<br />

purpose of refusing entry and the arrangement <strong>for</strong> prior consultation applies, the consultation should<br />

be carried out in accordance with the provisions of Article 25 of the Schengen Convention.<br />

9. If a Contracting State invokes the exceptions provided <strong>for</strong> under Article 5(2) of the Schengen<br />

Convention, entry granted to holders of diplomatic, official or service passports will also be limited to<br />

the national territory of the State in question, which should in<strong>for</strong>m the other Member States<br />

accordingly.<br />

II. Regulations governing movements at internal borders<br />

In general, the arrangement under Articles 19 et seq. shall apply, except <strong>for</strong> the issue of a visa with<br />

limited territorial validity.<br />

The holders of diplomatic, official and service passports may move within the territory of the<br />

Contracting States <strong>for</strong> three months from the date of entry (if they are not subject to the visa<br />

requirements) or <strong>for</strong> the period provided <strong>for</strong> by the visa.<br />

Persons accredited by a diplomatic or consular representation and members of their families who<br />

hold the card issued by the Ministry <strong>for</strong> Foreign Affairs may move within the territory of the<br />

Contracting States <strong>for</strong> a maximum period of three months upon production of this card and, if<br />

required, the travel document.<br />

III. Regulations governing movements outlined in this document shall apply to laissez-passers issued<br />

by the Intergovernmental <strong>International</strong> Organisations to which all the Schengen States belong to<br />

officials of those organisations who, pursuant to the Treaties establishing those Organisations, are<br />

exempted from registering with the Immigration Office and from holding a residence permit (see<br />

Annex 5 to the Common Manual).<br />

when they are holders of diplomatic, official or service passports, but who are subject to this<br />

requirement when they are holders of ordinary passports<br />

DS : Holders of diplomatic and service passports are exempt from visa requirements.<br />

D : Holders of diplomatic passports are exempt from visa requirements.<br />
