Wolf Peschl, ist Präsident der Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Musikerzieher Österreichs (AGMÖ), Vizepräsident des Österreichischen Musikrates (ÖMR), Vorsitzender der Medien-Begutachtungskommission des österreichischen Bildungsministeriums, mehrfacher Buchautor, Redakteur zweier pädagogischer Fachzeitschriften, Autor von ca. 140 pädagogikwissenschaftlichen Publikationen, Dirigent und Chorleiter; er war Präsident der European Association Schoolmusic (EAS) und Direktor des Bundesgymnasiums Wien 3. Vortragsreisen führen ihn an zahlreiche Universitäten (Gastvorlesungen u.a. in Ankara, Cambridge, Krakau, Leuven, München, Nürnberg, Peking, Prag, Presov, Salzburg, Würzburg). In den letzten Jahren mehrfache Beteiligungen an internationalen Projekten im Rahmen von Erasmus und Sokrates. Er ist außerdem Autor zahlreicher Rundfunk- und Fernsehsendungen, von Unterrichtsmedien (VIDEOs, DVDs, Arbeitsmaterialien für den Unterricht) sowie Komponist von Bühnenmusik für Fernseh-Sendungen.
