“Sustainable management means socially and ecolog-
ically responsible corporate governance. It means
generating profits with products and services that
benefit man and the environment. Diversity and
equality are second nature for businesses of this kind.”
Susanne Bergius gave this definition of sustainable
management at the start of the Forum. The motives
for this kind of corporate governance were values and
their economic advantages, she said.
How can more companies be prompted to act in a sustainable
manner? Are statutory regulations needed
for this purpose? How attractive are value-based, sustainability-oriented
