Arash T. Riahi, 1972 im Iran geboren, lebt seit 1982 in Österreich. Nach seiner Zeit als Student<br />
der <strong>Film</strong>- und Geisteswissenschaften an der Universität Wien war er freier Mitarbeiter des<br />
ORF, unter anderem bei den Sendungen nitebox und kunst-stücke. 1997 gründete er<br />
gemeinsam mit Kollegen die <strong>Film</strong>- und Medienproduktions firma Golden Girls <strong>Film</strong> produktion.<br />
Riahis <strong>Film</strong>schaffen umfasst eine Reihe von Dokumentarfilmen, Werbespots, Musik-Videos,<br />
Kurz- und Experimentalfilmen, darunter auch die mehrfach international prämierte Familiengeschichte<br />
Exile Family Movie oder das Cross-Mediaprojekt Everyday Rebellion, das er<br />
mit seinem Bruder Arman realisierte. Sein erster Spielfilm Ein Augenblick Freiheit aus dem<br />
Jahr 2008 erhielt 31 internationale Auszeichnungen und war der österreichische Kandidat<br />
für den Auslands-Oscar 2010. Seit 2010 arbeitet er auch als Dramaturg unter anderem<br />
beim MEDIA Programm SOURCES 2 und seit 2014 lehrt er auf der <strong>Film</strong>akademie Wien.<br />
Arash T. Riahi, born 1972 in Iran, has been living in Austria since 1982. After graduating<br />
in film studies and humanities at the University of Vienna, he worked as a freelancer<br />
for the Austrian TV Channel ORF on television programmes such as nitebox and<br />
kunst-stücke. In 1997 he founded the film and media production company Golden Girls<br />
<strong>Film</strong> produktion. His body of work comprises various award-winning documentaries,<br />
commercials, music videos, short and experimental films, including the award-winning<br />
documentary Exile Family Movie, or the cross-media project Everyday Rebellion, which he<br />
realised with his brother Arman. His first feature film For a Moment Freedom from the year<br />
2008 received thirty-one international awards and was Austria’s candidate for the Best<br />
Foreign Language <strong>Film</strong> at the Academy Awards in 2010. He is also working as a dramatic<br />
advisor and has been a group leader at the MEDIA scriptwriting programme SOURCES<br />
2 since 2010. For one year now he has been teaching at the <strong>Film</strong>academy of Vienna.<br />

Arman T. Riahi wurde 1981 im Iran geboren und ist in Wien aufgewachsen. Er studierte<br />
Medientechnik und arbeitete als Grafik- und Screendesigner in London. Seit 2005<br />
ist er als Regisseur und Autor für verschiedene <strong>Film</strong>- und Fernsehproduktionen tätig,<br />
unter anderem gestaltete er Sendungen für die Donnerstag Nacht im ORF. Zu seinen<br />
wichtigsten Arbeiten zählen die Dokumentarfilmreihe Momentum – What drives you<br />
(2008-2012), die fünfteilige TV-Dokumentation Africa Race (2013) und der Kinodokumentarfilm<br />
Schwarzkopf (2011), der als Eröffnungsfilm bei der 17. Ausgabe des Sarajevo<br />
<strong>Film</strong>festivals gezeigt wurde und den Publikumspreis bei der Diagonale gewann. 2013<br />
wurde Arman T. Riahi das Start-Stipendium für <strong>Film</strong>kunst des BKA zugesprochen und<br />
seit zwei Jahren ist er auch als FH-Dozent im Masterstudiengang „Medientechnik“ tätig.<br />
Arman T. Riahis erster <strong>Film</strong> mit seinem Bruder Arash, das Cross-Media-Projekt Everyday<br />
Rebellion (2014), wurde bisher auf über 40 internationalen <strong>Festival</strong>s gezeigt und gewann<br />
mehrere Preise, wie beispielsweise den Publikumspreis beim CPH:DOX Copenhagen<br />
International Documentary <strong>Film</strong> <strong>Festival</strong>, den Cinema for Peace Award 2014 oder den<br />
CIVIS Media Online Preis. Momentan arbeitet Arman T. Riahi an seinem ersten Spielfilm.<br />
Arman T. Riahi was born in Iran in 1981 and grew up in Vienna. He studied media technology<br />
in Vienna and worked as a graphic and screen designer in London. He has<br />
been working as a director and author for several film and TV productions, such as the<br />
Donnerstag Nacht format on Austrian state television ORF, since 2005. His most important<br />
works include the film series Momentum – What drives you (2008-2012), the five-part TV<br />
documentary Africa Race (2013), as well as the feature documentary Schwarzkopf (2011),<br />
which premiered as the opening film of the 17th Sarajevo <strong>Film</strong> <strong>Festival</strong> and won the<br />
Audience Award at the Diagonale film festival. In 2013 Arman T. Riahi was granted the<br />
Start-Scholarship for <strong>Film</strong> Arts of the Federal Chancellery of Arts. Since 2013 he has also<br />
been working as a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences for Media Technology.<br />
Arman T. Riahi’s first film with his brother Arash, the feature documentary and cross- media<br />
project Everyday Rebellion (2014), was screened at over 40 international film festivals and<br />
won several awards like the CPH:DOX Politiken Audience Award at the Copenhagen<br />
International Documentary <strong>Film</strong> <strong>Festival</strong> 2013, the 2014 Cinema for Peace Award, or the<br />
CIVIS Online Media Prize. Currently, Arman T. Riahi is working on his first feature film.<br />
