Die VHS Wiener Urania liegt als Bildungs- und Veranstaltungszentrum
im Herzen Wiens. Wir sind ein offenes Haus mit einem
breiten Angebot. An unserer Volkshochschule wird Sprachenvielfalt
gelebt. Über 25 Sprachen, darunter u. a. Bulgarisch,
Kroatisch, Polnisch, Russisch, Tschechisch und Türkisch, können
in über 600 Kursen erlernt werden. Wir freuen uns besonders, das
LET’S CEE Film Festival mit der überaus großen Filmauswahl aus
Zentral- und Osteuropa bei uns willkommen heißen zu dürfen.
The Centre for National Education in the Viennese Urania lies
in the heart of Vienna. Our institution is open to all and offers
a wide range of courses. Linguistic diversity is an integral part
of life at our school. We offer more than six hundred courses
for learning over twenty-five languages, including Bulgarian,
Croatian, Czech, Polish, Russian and Turkish. We are especially
glad to welcome the LET’S CEE Film Festival with its wide
range of films from Central and Eastern Europe in our house.
In der Urania befindet sich eines der historisch bedeutendsten
Kinos Wiens. Das am Donaukanal liegende Jugendstilgebäude
ist ein wichtiges Wahrzeichen der Stadt
und dient schon seit seinen Anfangstagen als Kino, Sternwarte
und Bildungseinrichtung zugleich. Neben 269 Sitzplätzen,
verteilt auf Balkon und Parterre, locken Filmfreunde
ein extrabreiter Reihenabstand von 1,3 Metern, eine neue
Leinwand und digitale Film- und Tontechnik in Dolby SRD.
The Urania is home to one of Vienna‘s historically most important
cinemas. The Art Nouveau building situated on the
Danube canal is a landmark of the city and has been used as
a cinema, observatory and educational institution since the
day it was built. Apart from its 269 seats distributed across
balcony and ground floor, the cinema‘s most attractive
features include extra wide aisles between the rows measuring
1,3 metres, a brand-new screen as well as state of the
art digital equipment and sound technology in Dolby SRD.
Dieses Kino liegt mitten in der historischen Altstadt,
nur wenige Gehminuten vom Stephansdom entfernt.
Benannt nach der berühmten Schauspielerwerkstatt
in New York, gilt dieses kleine, aber feine Kino als
beliebter Treffpunkt für Filmfreunde und richtet sich
auch außerhalb des Festivals an ein Publikum, das anspruchsvollere
Produktionen bevorzugt. Die insgesamt
221 Plätze sind auf drei geräumige und kürzlich renovierte
Kinosäle mit jeweils 88, 71 und 62 Sitzen verteilt.
This cinema lies in the heart of Vienna’s historic city
centre, only a short walk from St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
Named after the famous Actors Studio of New
York, this small but fine cinema is a favourite meeting
point for film enthusiasts. It addresses an audience that
prefers high-quality productions. Its total of 221 seats is
distributed over three spacious cinemas with 88, 71 and
62 seats each, all three of which were renovated recently.
