The Vierendeel truss (Fig. 7.11k) generally is shop welded to the extent possible<br />

to develop full rigidity of connections between the verticals <strong>and</strong> chords. It is useful<br />

where absence of diagonals is desirable to permit passage between the verticals.<br />
