Public “Formal” exhibition <strong>of</strong> DLEP 2011<br />

The draft LEP was placed on formal exhibition from the 30 May to 13 July 2012. By<br />

the close <strong>of</strong> business on the 13 July 2012 a total <strong>of</strong> 247 submissions (including 2<br />

petitions <strong>of</strong> 26 names and 47 names and 71 pro forma letters) were received from the<br />

community to the exhibition <strong>of</strong> the draft Plan as approved by DoPI on the 23 April<br />

2012 for exhibition. The below table groups the submissions based on the<br />

geographic or subject area they relate to or the authority group they come from.<br />

Issue 1 Public Works Group - 130 Talavera Rd Macquarie Park<br />

Under DLEP 2011 the land is zoned B7 Business Park as is the land immediately<br />

adjoining the site to the south east. All other land to the south east and south<br />

west is proposed to be zoned B4 Mixed Use.<br />

The submission requests the rezoning <strong>of</strong> the land to B4 Mixed Use for the<br />

reasons that the proposed B7 zoning will isolate the land from the rest <strong>of</strong> the B4<br />

zone and there appears to be no planning justification for this. FSR and heights<br />

proposed for the land are consistent with the adjoining B4 zone.<br />

A mixed use zoning i.e. B4 would be more appropriate and allow suitable uses<br />

such as:<br />

Tourist and visitor accommodation.’<br />

Bulky goods development<br />

Student housing.<br />
