refined from plant sources without chemical or enzymic modification; the others are sucrose and<br />

thaumatin.<br />

Sweet diterpene glycosides extracted from the leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni, which is a<br />

variety chrysanthemum found in Paraguay and Brazil. The plant has been successfully cultivated in<br />

Japan, Korea, South Africa, South America, Taiwan and China.<br />

Commercially available in Japan as crude extract, 50% pure and 90% pure or higher grades.<br />
