• Measurement: there is a need to develop further<br />

the capacity to measure the ‘missing’ dimensions<br />

of wellbeing, the ways in which individuals <strong>an</strong>d<br />

households experience multiple deprivations<br />

<strong>an</strong>d intra-household dynamics.<br />

• Group-based inequalities should be one focus<br />

of measuring <strong>an</strong>d monitoring ef<strong>for</strong>ts, given that<br />

those who experience persistent poverty share<br />

some common characteristics – e.g. age, caste,<br />

ethnicity, caste, disability <strong>an</strong>d gender – which<br />

often overlap in ways that make it harder to<br />

move out of poverty.<br />

• Poor people’s experiences of deprivation c<strong>an</strong><br />

help to prioritise dimensions of wellbeing<br />

<strong>an</strong>d highlight aspects such as the import<strong>an</strong>ce<br />
