The Europe<strong>an</strong> report on Development<br />
(ErD) is the main output of the ‘mobilising<br />
Europe<strong>an</strong> research <strong>for</strong> Development<br />
policies’ initiative, supported by the<br />
Europe<strong>an</strong> commission <strong>an</strong>d seven member<br />
States (Finl<strong>an</strong>d, Fr<strong>an</strong>ce, Germ<strong>an</strong>y, luxembourg,<br />
Spain, Sweden <strong>an</strong>d the united Kingdom). the<br />
ErD 2013 was prepared by a consortium of three<br />
independent research centres: the Europe<strong>an</strong> centre<br />
<strong>for</strong> Development policy m<strong>an</strong>agement (EcDpm), the<br />
Germ<strong>an</strong> Development Institute/Deutsches Institut<br />
für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE), <strong>an</strong>d the overseas<br />
Development Institute (oDI).<br />
as part of the writing process, the core team<br />
org<strong>an</strong>ised a series of consultative events <strong>an</strong>d<br />
workshops in abidj<strong>an</strong>, bonn, brussels, Kathm<strong>an</strong>du,<br />
Kigali, lima <strong>an</strong>d london. We are immensely<br />
