1. Cure characteristics, tensile properties <strong>and</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r technological<br />
properties are superior for vulcanizates with 5phr ZnO(c) compared to<br />
vulcanizates with 2phr ZnO(c).<br />
2. Cure characteristics <strong>and</strong> physical properties are superior for<br />
vulcanizates with 2phr ZnO(p) <strong>and</strong> 2phr ZnO(s) compared to<br />
vulcanizates with 1phr ZnO(p) <strong>and</strong> ZnO(s).<br />
3. Cure characteristics <strong>of</strong> compounds with 2phr ZnO(p) <strong>and</strong> ZnO(s) are<br />
superior to vulcanizate with 5phr ZnO(c).<br />
4. The vulcanizates c<strong>on</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g a lower dosage (2phr) <strong>of</strong> <strong>z<strong>in</strong>c</strong> <strong>oxide</strong><br />
prepared <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> laboratory (ZnO(p) &ZnO(s)) was found to have<br />
better mechanical properties than <strong>the</strong> vulcanizates c<strong>on</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g (5phr)<br />
c<strong>on</strong>venti<strong>on</strong>al <strong>z<strong>in</strong>c</strong> <strong>oxide</strong>.<br />
5. Re<strong>in</strong>forc<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>dex, heat build-up, flex resistance, crossl<strong>in</strong>k density<br />
values are superior for vulcanizates with 2phr ZnO(p) <strong>and</strong> ZnO(s)<br />
compared to vulcanizates with 5phr ZnO(c).<br />
6. Hardness, compressi<strong>on</strong> set, abrasi<strong>on</strong> loss <strong>and</strong> swell<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>dex values<br />
are comparable for vulcanizates with 2phr ZnO(p), 2phr ZnO(s) <strong>and</strong><br />
5phr ZnO(c).<br />
7. The cha<strong>in</strong> flexibility is not affected by <strong>the</strong> additi<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> prepared <strong>z<strong>in</strong>c</strong><br />
<strong>oxide</strong>s.
