Soxhlet extracti<strong>on</strong><br />

Products from rice husk as filler <strong>in</strong> natural rubber<br />

Weighed (W1) small pieces <strong>of</strong> vulcanized samples from mix A <strong>and</strong> mix<br />

B <strong>and</strong> placed <strong>in</strong>side thick filter paper. This is <strong>the</strong>n loaded <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> ma<strong>in</strong><br />

chamber <strong>of</strong> soxhlet extractor. Soxhlet extractor is placed <strong>on</strong>to a flask<br />

c<strong>on</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> extracti<strong>on</strong> solvent acet<strong>on</strong>e. The solvent is heated to reflux for<br />

16 hrs. The n<strong>on</strong>soluble porti<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> sample <strong>in</strong> filter paper is weighed (W2).<br />
