Romania Chapter 3: European Union Member States licence. The cultural goods must remain in Romania until the certificate and/or licence have been issued. Is there a fee for an export licence? Yes, a fee is charged for the expertise when it is done by the County Directorates. Fees are around 2€ for a small object and up to 15€ for a large object. You can consult the list of fees at the website of the Bucharest Directorate: http://www.bucuresti.djc.ro/DocumenteHtml.aspx?keyword=informatii Does the cultural object need to be valued? If so, who will do this? The application process involves advice and expert opinion from the National Commission of Museums and Collections. Accredited experts with the Commission carry out the expertise and their details can be found at: http://www.cimec.ro/scripts/RegistruExperti/PatrimoniulMobil/sel.asp What are the penalties if I do something wrong? There is a protocol for collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs (MCC) and the Ministry of Administration and Interior (MAI) on the protection of movable cultural goods: http://www.cultura.ro/Documents.aspx?ID=180 What are the standards of service I can expect to receive?
