Chapter 3: European Union Member States<br />

Under Slovak legislation, <strong>goods</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>cultural</strong> character <strong>and</strong> objects <strong>of</strong> his<strong>to</strong>rical monument<br />

value may only be <strong>import</strong>ed in<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Slovak Republic with <strong>the</strong> written consent <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> relevant<br />

body <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> country <strong>of</strong> <strong>export</strong>. This means that when <strong>import</strong>ing <strong>the</strong> <strong>goods</strong> in<strong>to</strong> Slovakia<br />

from <strong>Russia</strong>, you must be able <strong>to</strong> produce evidence that <strong>the</strong> objects were <strong>export</strong>ed<br />

from <strong>Russia</strong> in a legal way (i.e., <strong>Russia</strong>n <strong>export</strong> permit, if m<strong>and</strong>a<strong>to</strong>ry under <strong>Russia</strong>n Law).<br />
